Description:
Head south on the forestry track which starts just west of the road bridge over the Crinan canal. Head south on this track for around 5 km (ignoring all junctions), continuing on a short section of more recent connecting path to forest tracks heading past Kilduskland Reservoir.
Continues south on tracks to join the alternative national cycle route 78 for its final descent to the road (B8024).
Turn right (west) on the road, and head over the hill to Achahoish.
At Achahoish (just before reaching the sea), turn right. Follow this road to its end at Ellary.
Passing several "Private, no vehicles" signs, head along the estate road before turning right onto a track which connects to the road on the other side of the peninsula at Ballimore.
Follow the road for many km, past Castelsween, finally reaching the village of Achnamara.
About 1 km beyond Achnamara, at switchback corners in the road, head north on forest tracks (Lochan Buic Cycle Route marked on OS map).
Follow these tracks over the hill back to the village of Cairnbaan.
